Our responsibility for the shipment normally ends when it is delivered to and accepted by your appointed freight forwarder.
Any international transportation arranged by your freight forwarder is governed by your separate agreement with that provider.
We are not responsible for loss, delay, misrouting or additional charges caused by incorrect or incomplete freight-forwarder information supplied by the customer.
4. Our International Shipping Service
Customers who do not have their own freight forwarder may use our international shipping service.
We may select or recommend a shipping method based on:
- Destination;
- Shipment size;

- Customs requirements;
- Available carrier routes;
- Cost efficiency.
International transportation may be performed by third-party:

- Trucking companies;
- Rail operators;
- Express couriers;
- Customs brokers;
- Last-mile delivery companies.
The selected route and service scope will be stated in the quotation or shipping confirmation.
5. DDP Door-to-Door Shipping
DDP door-to-door shipping may be available for eligible products and supported destinations.
Under a confirmed DDP quotation, the service may include:
- Export handling;
- International transportation;
- Transit customs coordination;
- Import customs-clearance coordination;
- Specified import duties or taxes;
- Transfer to a local delivery provider;
- Final delivery to the confirmed destination.
Under the ICC Incoterms® framework, DDP places extensive transportation and customs obligations on the seller up to the agreed destination. However, the exact commercial service offered by 1688 Delivery is governed by the written quotation and any stated exclusions.
A DDP quotation includes duties and taxes only where this is expressly stated.
DDP pricing may not include additional costs resulting from:
- Incorrect product descriptions;
- Incorrect customs values;
- Undisclosed restricted goods;
- Incorrect HS classifications supplied by the customer;
- Customs penalties;
- Destination inspections;
- Special permits;
- Recipient identification requirements;
- Storage caused by customer delay;
- Failed delivery;
- Incorrect addresses;
- Recipient refusal;
- Remote-area delivery;
- Changes in government regulations;
- Charges not reasonably known when the quotation was issued.
If a destination requires the recipient to provide identification, tax information or import documents, the recipient must cooperate promptly.
6. Shipping Quotations
Shipping quotations are prepared using the information available at the time.
Customers should provide:
- Product link;
- Product name;
- Product category;
- Quantity;
- Estimated weight;
- Estimated dimensions;
- Product value;
- Destination country;
- Destination postcode;
- Required shipping method;
- Whether the product contains batteries, liquids, powders, magnets or other restricted components.
An initial quotation may be revised after the goods arrive at our warehouse and are measured.
The final shipping charge may depend on:
- Actual weight;
- Volumetric weight;
- Final carton dimensions;
- Number of cartons;
- Repacking method;
- Product category;
- Customs classification;
- Destination;
- Carrier surcharge;
- Fuel surcharge;
- Remote-area surcharge;
- Seasonal rate changes;
- Currency fluctuations;
- Additional services requested.
Unless stated otherwise, quotations are not guaranteed indefinitely and may be updated before dispatch.
7. Actual Weight and Volumetric Weight
Shipping charges may be calculated using either:
- Actual weight; or
- Volumetric weight.
The chargeable weight is generally the higher of the two, according to the carrier or freight provider’s calculation method.
Repacking and removing unnecessary packaging may help reduce shipment volume, but we do not guarantee a specific reduction in shipping cost.
Final weight and dimensions will be determined after repacking.
8. Shipment Preparation
Before dispatch, we may complete the following steps:
- Receive and register packages;
- Match packages to the customer;
- Conduct the agreed inspection;
- Take photographs or videos;
- Obtain customer confirmation;
- Consolidate multiple packages;
- Remove unnecessary outer packaging;
- Replace damaged cartons;
- Add protective materials;
- Reinforce cartons;
- Measure final weight and dimensions;
- Confirm the receiving address;
- Prepare shipping labels and documents.
The shipment will normally not be released until all applicable charges have been paid.
9. Customer Approval Before Dispatch
Customers must review:
- Inspection photographs;
- Inspection videos;
- Visible product condition;
- Quantities checked;
- Repacking arrangements;
- Final delivery address;
- Freight-forwarder information;

Once the customer approves dispatch, we may hand the shipment to the selected carrier or freight forwarder.

- Postcode;

The Harmonized System is the international framework used by customs administrations for the classification of traded goods and forms the basis of customs tariffs in more than 200 countries and economies.

We will not accept instructions to:
- Falsely describe goods;
- Conceal restricted goods;
- Declare a knowingly false value;

The declared customs value must be supported by legitimate commercial information where required.
Customs authorities may request:
- Supplier invoice;
- Order screenshot;
- Proof of payment;
- Product link;
- Transaction records;
- Explanation of the declared value.
Customs authorities may reject or reassess a declared value.
We are not responsible for additional duties, taxes, penalties, delays or seizures caused by false, incomplete or unsupported values supplied by the customer or supplier.
13. HS Classification
Products may need to be classified under an HS or destination-specific tariff code.
Where we provide a suggested HS code, it is for logistical assistance only unless a formal customs-classification service has been expressly agreed.
The customer remains responsible for providing complete product information.
Customs authorities have final authority to determine:
- Product classification;
- Applicable tariff;
- Import controls;
- Duties and taxes.
A customs authority may apply a different classification from the one initially used.
14. Customs Duties and Taxes
Depending on the shipping method, duties and taxes may be:
- Included in a confirmed DDP quotation;
- Paid by the recipient;
- Billed separately;
- Collected by the carrier;
- Assessed by customs after arrival.
For non-DDP services, the recipient is generally responsible for destination-country:
- Import duty;
- Value-added tax;
- Goods and services tax;
- Customs-processing charges;
- Brokerage fees;
- Local import charges;
- Storage or inspection charges.
Customers should not assume that duties or taxes are included unless the quotation expressly states this.
15. Customs Authority Decisions
Customs authorities have final authority over:
- Classification;
- Valuation;
- Inspection;
- Documentation;
- Duties and taxes;
- Import approval;
- Release;
- Detention;

We may assist with communication and document coordination, but we cannot guarantee:

- Clearance within a specific period;
- Acceptance of a declared value;
- Acceptance of a proposed HS code;
- Exemption from inspection;
- Release without additional documents;
- Approval of a restricted product.
16. Customs Inspections
A shipment may be selected for:
- Document review;

Customs inspections may cause:

Where permitted, we will provide available updates and assist with requests for information.

- Customs registration number;
- Import licence;
- Product invoice;

- Returned;
- Surrendered to authorities;

- Goods violating third-party intellectual-property rights.
We may request:
- Purchase invoices;
- Brand authorization;
- Supplier information;
- Proof of legitimate origin.
We may refuse or suspend a shipment where there is a reasonable concern about infringement or legality.
21. Export Controls and Licences
Certain goods may require export, import, transit or strategic-commodity licences.
Hong Kong Customs identifies categories of controlled imports, controlled exports, dutiable commodities and strategic commodities that may require licences or permits.
Customers must disclose whether a product:
- Has military or dual-use capability;
- Contains controlled technology;
- Requires an export licence;
- Requires an import permit;
- Is subject to sanctions or trade restrictions.
We may refuse any shipment that creates an unacceptable legal or regulatory risk.

- Weather;
- Peak season;
- Public holidays;
- Labour disputes;
- Destination restrictions;
- Remote-area delivery;
- Recipient availability;
- Missing documents;
- Government action.
Estimated transit time normally begins after the shipment has been accepted by the carrier, not when the supplier first sends the goods to our warehouse.
23. Shipment Tracking
After dispatch, we will provide the available:
- Tracking number;
- Freight reference;
- Carrier information;
- Dispatch status;
- Local delivery tracking number, where available.
Some shipments may use different references during:
- China domestic transportation;
- International transportation;
- Customs clearance;
- Last-mile delivery.
Tracking may not update continuously during consolidated freight, customs processing or transfer between logistics providers.
A temporary lack of tracking updates does not automatically mean that the shipment is lost.
24. Shipment Status Updates

A failed delivery may result in:
- Another delivery attempt;
- Collection-point delivery;
- Local storage;
- Address-correction fee;
- Return to sender;
- Disposal where permitted.
The customer is responsible for reasonable costs caused by inaccurate information or failure to receive the shipment.
27. Recipient Refusal
If the recipient refuses a shipment, the carrier may:
- Hold it temporarily;
- Return it;
- Charge storage;
- Charge return freight;
- Dispose of it under local rules.
Original shipping charges are generally not refundable after dispatch.
Return, storage, customs and re-dispatch charges are payable by the customer unless the refusal resulted directly from our confirmed error.
28. Returned Shipments
A shipment may be returned because of:
- Incorrect address;
- Failed delivery;
- Recipient refusal;
- Missing customs documents;

- Request a carrier update;
- Confirm whether documents are missing;
- Obtain a new local tracking number;
- Follow up with the freight provider;

Carrier and customs investigations may require time and are controlled by the relevant third party.

- Premium charges;
- Coverage limits;
- Deductibles;
- Product exclusions;

- Freight forwarders;
- Airlines;
- Shipping lines;
- Rail operators;
- Trucking companies;
- Customs brokers;
