At 1688 Delivery, we understand that clear shipment visibility is essential when goods are moving from China to an international destination.
After your shipment has been dispatched, we will provide the available tracking number and keep you informed of important shipment updates. Depending on the selected shipping method, updates may include carrier acceptance, international transit, customs clearance, local delivery and final delivery status.
1. When Will I Receive My Tracking Number?
Once your goods have completed the required warehouse process and have been handed over for transportation, we will provide the available shipment tracking information.
Before dispatch, the following steps may need to be completed:
- Package receiving and registration;
- Product inspection;
- Photo or video confirmation;
- Customer approval;
- Package consolidation;
- Secure repacking;
- Weight and dimension measurement;
- Shipping quotation confirmation;
- Payment confirmation;
- Recipient-address verification;
- Carrier or freight-forwarder handover.
The tracking number will normally become available after the carrier, freight forwarder or shipping provider creates the shipment record.
An initial tracking scan may not appear immediately. Tracking information may begin updating only after the logistics provider processes or scans the shipment.
2. How We Provide Tracking Information
Tracking information may be provided through:
- WhatsApp;
- Email;
- A carrier tracking page;
- A freight-forwarder tracking system;
- A local delivery provider’s tracking page;
- Another agreed communication channel.
The information provided may include:
- Tracking number;
- Carrier or logistics provider;
- Shipping method;
- Dispatch date;
- Latest known shipment status;
- Local delivery tracking number, where available;
- Delivery or customs instructions, where required.
Customers should keep their order reference and tracking number available when contacting us about a shipment.
3. Shipment Status Updates
After dispatch, we will provide available updates about important shipment events.
Depending on the shipping method and route, updates may include:
- Shipment prepared;
- Collected from our warehouse;
- Handed over to the carrier;
- Departed from the origin facility;
- In international transit;
- Arrived in the destination country;
- Under customs clearance;
- Customs clearance completed;
- Transferred to a local delivery provider;
- Out for delivery;
- Delivery attempted;
- Delivered;
- Delivery exception;
- Additional information required.
Not every shipping route provides the same level of online tracking. Some freight or consolidated shipping routes may have milestone updates rather than continuous package-level scans.
4. Common Tracking Statuses
Shipment Information Received
The carrier has received the shipment details, but the physical package may not yet have been scanned into the carrier’s network.
Collected or Accepted
The shipment has been collected or accepted by the carrier, freight forwarder or logistics provider.
In Transit
The shipment is moving between logistics facilities, airports, ports, customs locations or delivery networks.
Departed from Origin
The shipment has left the origin facility or export transportation hub.
Arrived at Destination
The shipment has reached the destination country or regional distribution facility.
Customs Clearance in Progress
The shipment is being reviewed by customs or a customs-clearance provider.
Additional information or recipient cooperation may be required.
Customs Clearance Completed
The shipment has completed the applicable customs process and may proceed to the next delivery stage.
Transferred to Local Carrier
The international logistics provider has transferred the shipment to a local courier or last-mile delivery company.
A new local tracking number may be issued.
Out for Delivery
The local delivery provider is attempting final delivery to the recipient’s address.
Delivered
The carrier has recorded the shipment as delivered.
The delivery record may include:
- Delivery date;
- Delivery time;
- Recipient name;
- Signature;
- Delivery photograph;
- Safe-place location;
- Collection-point information.
The available proof depends on the local delivery provider.
Delivery Exception
A problem has affected the delivery process.
Possible reasons include:
- Incorrect or incomplete address;
- Recipient unavailable;
- Telephone number unavailable;
- Customs documentation required;
- Import charge or local fee pending;
- Remote-area restrictions;
- Weather disruption;
- Carrier operational delay;
- Package held at a collection point;
- Delivery refused.
Customers should respond promptly when additional information or action is requested.
5. Different Tracking Numbers During Transit
Some shipments may use more than one tracking number.
For example:
- A shipment may first travel under an international freight reference;
- It may then receive a customs or destination-hub reference;
- A local courier may issue a new last-mile tracking number.
For DDP or consolidated transportation, the original tracking number may not display every stage of the shipment.
When a new local tracking number becomes available, we will provide it where reasonably possible.
6. Tracking for Your Own Freight Forwarder
If you ask us to deliver the completed shipment to your own freight forwarder in China, we will provide available domestic delivery information after dispatch.
This may include:
- China domestic tracking number;
- Delivery company;
- Dispatch date;
- Delivery status;
- Proof of delivery, where available.
Once the shipment is delivered to and accepted by your appointed freight forwarder, further international tracking must normally be obtained from that freight forwarder.
You are responsible for providing the correct:
- Freight-forwarder warehouse address;
- Recipient name;
- Telephone number;
- Customer identification code;
- Warehouse reference;
- Receiving instructions.
7. Tracking for Our International Shipping Service
When you use our international transportation service, we will provide the available tracking number or shipment reference after dispatch.
Depending on the route, tracking may be provided by:
- An international courier;
- An air-freight provider;
- A sea-freight provider;
- A rail or truck provider;
- A dedicated shipping-line operator;
- A destination customs agent;
- A local delivery company.
Some economical, freight or consolidated routes provide updates only at major transit milestones.
8. DDP Door-to-Door Shipment Updates
For shipments using our DDP door-to-door service, available updates may include:
- Export dispatch;
- International transit;
- Arrival at destination;
- Customs clearance;
- Transfer to the last-mile carrier;
- Out-for-delivery status;
- Final delivery.
DDP does not mean that every movement will appear in a public online tracking system.
Certain customs or consolidated transportation stages may be visible only through internal logistics updates. We will share important available updates with the customer through the agreed communication channel.
The exact services and costs included in DDP shipping remain subject to the applicable quotation.
9. Why Has My Tracking Not Updated?
A temporary lack of tracking updates does not necessarily mean that a shipment is lost.
Tracking may not update because:
- The carrier has created the label but has not completed the first scan;
- The shipment is waiting for export departure;
- The shipment is travelling between major hubs;
- Consolidated freight is moving under a master reference;
- The shipment is undergoing customs processing;
- Tracking systems are delayed;
- A local carrier has not yet issued a new tracking number;
- Weekends or public holidays have affected processing;
- Weather or transportation disruption has occurred;
- The carrier does not scan the package at every stage.
We recommend allowing the logistics provider sufficient time to process and scan the shipment before requesting an investigation.
10. Customs Clearance Updates
Customs processing is controlled by the relevant government authorities and customs providers.
During clearance, customers may be asked to provide:
- Recipient identification;
- Tax or customs number;
- Product description;
- Product value;
- Purchase invoice;
- Proof of payment;
- Import authorization;
- Intended-use information;
- Other supporting documents.
Customers must provide accurate information and respond promptly.
We may assist with communication and documentation coordination, but we cannot guarantee:
- A specific clearance time;
- Customs approval;
- Release without inspection;
- Acceptance of a declared classification or value;
- Exemption from destination-country requirements.
11. Delivery Address and Recipient Responsibilities
Before dispatch, customers must carefully verify:
- Recipient name;
- Full street address;
- Apartment, unit or building number;
- City;
- State or province;
- Postcode;
- Country;
- Telephone number;
- Email address, where required;
- Customs or tax identification details, where required.
We are not responsible for delays, failed delivery or additional charges caused by incorrect, incomplete or outdated recipient information supplied by the customer.
After dispatch, an address change may:
- Be unavailable;
- Delay delivery;
- Require carrier approval;
- Involve an additional fee;
- Require the shipment to be returned and re-sent.
12. Delivery Attempts and Collection Points
Local delivery practices vary by country and carrier.
The carrier may:
- Attempt delivery more than once;
- Contact the recipient;
- Leave the shipment in a safe place;
- Deliver it to a neighbour;
- Send it to a collection point;
- Hold it at a local depot;
- Return it after unsuccessful delivery attempts.
The recipient is responsible for monitoring tracking updates and completing any required collection or delivery arrangements.
Failure to collect a shipment within the carrier’s permitted period may result in return, storage or disposal charges.
13. Estimated Delivery Times
All delivery times are estimates unless a specific guaranteed service is expressly confirmed in writing.
Estimated delivery times may be affected by:
- Product type;
- Selected shipping route;
- Carrier schedules;
- Flight or vessel availability;
- Customs inspections;
- Destination-country requirements;
- Peak seasons;
- Public holidays;
- Weather;
- Labour disputes;
- Security events;
- Incorrect addresses;
- Recipient availability;
- Events outside our reasonable control.
A tracking status does not guarantee delivery on a particular date unless the carrier expressly provides a guaranteed service.
14. Shipment Delays
When we become aware of a significant delay or exception, we will provide the available information and, where appropriate, assist with follow-up.
Possible actions may include:
- Contacting the logistics provider;
- Requesting an updated status;
- Confirming whether additional documents are required;
- Obtaining a local tracking number;
- Confirming a delivery attempt;
- Requesting proof of delivery;
- Opening a carrier investigation where appropriate.
The timing and outcome of an investigation are controlled by the relevant carrier or freight provider.
15. Lost or Damaged Shipments
Tracking information alone does not determine whether a shipment qualifies as lost or damaged.
If a shipment appears to be lost or arrives damaged, the customer should contact us promptly and provide:
- Customer or order reference;
- Tracking number;
- Description of the issue;
- Product invoice;
- Proof of value;
- Photographs of the outer packaging;
- Photographs or videos of the damaged product;
- Delivery record;
- Any available carrier communication.
The recipient should retain:
- The damaged goods;
- Original packaging;
- Shipping labels;
- Internal cushioning materials;
- Delivery documentation.
Claims are subject to:
- Carrier investigation procedures;
- Applicable insurance terms;
- Supporting evidence;
- Reporting deadlines;
- Our Claims, Loss & Damage Policy;
- The applicable shipping quotation.
16. Proof of Delivery
Where available, we may request or provide proof of delivery from the logistics provider.
Proof of delivery may include:
- Carrier-delivered status;
- Delivery date and time;
- Recipient signature;
- Recipient name;
- Delivery photograph;
- GPS or location record;
- Collection-point record.
Not every carrier provides the same form of proof.
If tracking shows “Delivered” but the recipient cannot locate the package, the recipient should first check:
- Other household or business occupants;
- Reception or building management;
- Neighbours;
- Safe-place locations;
- Mailroom or parcel lockers;
- Local collection points.
The issue should then be reported promptly.

18. Customer Communications
Shipment updates may be sent to the WhatsApp number or email address supplied by the customer.
Customers are responsible for:
- Keeping contact details current;
- Monitoring WhatsApp and email;
- Checking spam or junk folders;
- Responding to customs or delivery requests;
- Informing us of contact-detail changes;
- Protecting access to their communication accounts.
Instructions sent from the registered WhatsApp number or email address may be treated as authorized instructions.
19. Third-Party Tracking Systems
Tracking information is generally supplied by third-party carriers, freight forwarders, customs providers and local couriers.
We aim to communicate the information accurately, but we do not independently control:
- Carrier scanning;
- Tracking-system availability;
- Status wording;
- Estimated delivery dates;
- Customs processing;
- Local delivery records.
A status shown by a carrier may occasionally be delayed, incomplete or corrected later.
Where there is a discrepancy, the official carrier or logistics-provider record will generally be used for investigation purposes.
20. Tracking Privacy and Security
Tracking numbers and shipment information should be treated as confidential.
Customers should avoid publishing:
- Full tracking numbers;
- Recipient addresses;
- Telephone numbers;
- Customs documents;
- Invoices;
- Identification documents;
- Payment information.
Shipment information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
21. Important Notice
Tracking updates are provided for shipment visibility and customer support.
They do not constitute:
- A guarantee of delivery by a specific date;
- A guarantee of customs clearance;
- A guarantee that no transportation delay will occur;
- A replacement for shipping insurance;
- An admission of liability;
- A guarantee that every logistics stage will be publicly visible.
Our obligations remain subject to the applicable quotation, Terms of Service, carrier conditions and relevant service policies.
